College Certificate - Heavy Construction Equipment Operation (1380)

Program Description The objective of this program is to provide the student with a combination of training in core compact equipment operator skills, heavy equipment operator skills, and heavy construction techniques, as well as trade-related skills such as safe working practices, mathematics, computer applications, communications, and surveying. Graduates will be well-prepared for success as they enter employment into the heavy construction and paving industries as equipment operators. A graduate of this program may not be required to complete the in-school apprenticeship training should they choose to pursue a Heavy Equipment Operator - Tractor Loader Backhoe, Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator, or a Heavy Equipment Operator - Dozer apprenticeship.
